Ammonomicon Cubulon

Fearful Symmetry
Ascendant Blobulons who have achieved flight. The force of their slam attack violently expels ammunition they store in their gelatinous body.

The Blobulonian military is nothing if not practical. By forming their bodies into cubes, Cubulons were able to more efficiently pack themselves into troop transports on their campaigns of conquest.

Cubulons slowly float towards the player, frequently firing bullets in all directions in a diamond shape. While preparing an attack, they are immune to knockback. Despite their ability to fly, they can take damage from flaming oil on the ground.

When Cubulons attack, they also create a small puddle of red creep similar to Blobulons. This creep does not harm the player or other enemies in any way, but will wash away any existing creep below.

Notes

  • Cubulons are often paired with either Muzzle Wisps or another Cubulon.

Ammonomicon Cubulead

Magnetic Death
Immune to damage when hardened.

Cubulons that remain in cubic form for too long eventually harden, unable to return to their original blobby shape. Cubuleads have embraced this fate, and can magnetize their steely bodies to recall their projectiles.

Cubuleads behave like regular Cubulons, but will attract their bullets back towards themselves after they travel a certain distance. These bullets pause in place for a few seconds before returning back, making them dangerous due to their lingering nature. Upon death, they leave a small square puddle of fire. Unlike most non-boss enemies, Cubulead bullets sometimes disappear when the Cubulead is killed.

Ammonomicon Chancebulon

Blobserker
Chancebulons are the berserker class of the Blobulonian imperial shock troops.

Known for erratic, violent attack patterns, those who chanced upon a Chancebulon were rarely heard from again.

Chancebulons slowly float towards the player. They occasionally pause to either fire bullets in a rotating dice formation, or fire the attacks of a random Blobulon enemy (including Blizzbulons, Poopulons, Bloodbulons, Cubulons, Leadbulons, and Blobulord). On occasion, they will turn gold, at which point they will fire many different attacks at once. They also have a small chance to die instantly when they attempt to attack. They are immune to fire and poison damage.

Notes

  • When attacking with Blobulord's bouncing bullets, they may leave random goop as they travel, such as poison or flaming oil.
  • Fitting in with the 'chance' theme, Chancebulons also have a chance to replace certain Blobulon enemies, usually Cubulons.

Trivia

  • Since Chancebulons appear to be dice themed, their special attack involving multiple Blobulon attacks could be linked to them rolling a high number, if not the highest number.
    • If they are in any relation to Daisuke the highest number could be a 20. Despite this, the Chancebulon does not appear to have that many attacks.
    • Similarly, the fact that they have a chance to die when attacking could be the result of them scoring the lowest number.

Trivia

  • Cubulons are one of two enemies that have a track from the game's soundtrack named after them ("Die Cubulon Die"), the other being the Beholster ("The Beholster Don't Blink").
